About Us

2nd, April, 2023

Luqman Primary School.

World Autism Awareness Day.

The Master of Ceremonies, Madam Nabukeera Munna, an advocate for children with disabilities engaged in a discussion with the pupils on Autism. During the discussion, she quoted ayahs of Surat Abasa(80th Surah of the holy Quran) which dishearten discrimination of people with disabilities.
The Guest Of Honor Dr. Agaba Ivan, a therapist that deals with children with Autism took the pupils through an hours lecture about the condition. During the lecture, He illustrated to the pupils how children with Autism differ from those that dont have the condition using pictures and videos.

Naweza representatives; Najwa Mariam and Sheikh Ntambi shared a few words with the pupils while Mr. Katumba and Hajjat Shamsa did not get the chance due to the limitation of time.
Sheikh Ntambi in his words sent a wake up call to the Moslem community and society to stop stigmatising people with Autism and other disabilities.
As we concluded the event, we were addressed by the schools Head teacher who was happy to host us.
Special thanks to Luqman Primary School for hosting the event, Umar on the camera, Naweza representatives in attendance and all those who were absent but did what they could to enable the event push through.
Being the first of its kind, the event was very informative and hopefully it wont be the last.
